so, it's covid 19 

then in 2020

we got cb leyy..

not the bad word ok

just circuit breaker

to break transmission -

as if we could

as thousands infected

mostly foreign workers

whom we have 

plenty weyy

without whom 

we seem unable

to keep sg clean or working 

lol!

2021 looked better

yay!

at the beginning

but then the variant appears

not from LOKI universe ah

t'was from a delta area

cannot mention names deyy

racist not us

anyway...

we've had shn, loa, qo, 

getting in and out of ha phases 1-2-3...

active clusters oh so many

then ktv.. whoah!

leading to fishery 

the biggest cluster to date

too many everywhere

community infections

sigh.. linked, unlinked

but somehow 

some folks 

got time to think of 

buying new homes

all new developments snapped up!

and a porsche too lol

covid fatique

made some spend money.

just doing their part

for the economy?

in the meantime

continue to stay home, be safe wash hands, mask up

is it kind?

There's an Arab proverb that says the mouth should have 3 gatekeepers  -  Is it true?  Is it kind?   Is it necessary?

Akemi thinks yes, she agrees with this proverb.  It would make life bearable.  Everyone can do with a little more kindness.

Akemi's thoughts wander towards someone she knows, one who could easily spew out not very kind, not very necessary 'truths' (according to their perception).  Whenever any of it comes out from them,  it always catches Akemi by surprise!  So much so that she finds herself equally amused and annoyed by it.

But Akemi would as soon as forget about it too!  In her head, Akemi does not allow dzombies.  Only dzikrs - the remembrance of Allah.  She'd rather really WIN it!

So with her mind insulated, hopefully the 3 gatekeepers - truth, kindness and necessity - will do their job of helping her hold it in.

I agree!  It would really make mummy's day, every time she gets a hug!  All the time we spend with her would not even match her own sacrifice for us.

AND you know what she’d really appreciate as much also? 

Our charity towards her in the form of the quiet regular du’as for her in every fard prayer & the gifts of Al-Fateha while she is alive which continues even after she is gone.  Those are the ‘hugs’ that last.  In shaa Allah. 

It might match her own physical caring for us while we were dependent on her all those years. Plus her own charity for us in the form of the quiet regular du’as for us in her every fard prayer & the gifts of Al-Fateha she drizzles towards our direction daily, while we are away from her,  independent of her now.

declutter and reclutter

Ah Cy Akemi was caught in the digital mess of decluttering her notebook, accidentally formatting  her portable hard disk and losing a WHOLE terra byte of files by accident, AND then reformatting it, recovering the ONE terra byte back into the PHD,  all in one single day!

The same day she had a dental implant onto the spot where a tooth once was.


Cyber space is limitless.  What a waste of time the digital era is!  Wasting time surfing internet, or hoarding files one does not even know one has until one opens them again!  Mega, giga, terra-bytes. Unlimited space one doesn't need sometimes, nor use.

A missing tooth, however,  is truly,  sorely missed!  Here, every bite counts.

Where's My Dad?

Akemi Thot about her mother.💕 

The other day,  her dad called her while she was driving.  Akemi picked up the call on the speaker phone.

"Your mum wants to talk to you."

He passed the phone to her mother.

"Hey Ah Cy.  Is my dad there?"
"No, mum.  He's not here. "
"Oh?  Where is he?"
"I don't know.  He was never here."
"Oh where could he be.  He's been gone for days and has not come back?  He was just around here that day.  Now where is he?"

Akemi has never met her mother's dad.
